Here are some heartbreakingly beautiful burgundy pants/trousers in a classic mod style. They're a 26-inch waist and about a 29.5-inch inseam, 65%-35% poly-cotton blend. I can't find any tag with a brand name, but these are certainly comparable to the classic mod brands. The person I bought these from estimated they're from the mod revival era of 1979 or so, which sounds about right. The legs are pretty fitted all the way down (6.5" measured flat at the ankle, 7.5" at the knee), with no cuffs, the pockets are slant-style (sorry, frogmouth lovers), and the belt loops will accommodate a thin belt (sorry, wide belt lovers). There is one buttoned back pocket on the right (hidden pocket, not a patch pocket), and the fly is a zipper with a button at the top. The color is a purplish burgundy/maroon under incandescent light and a little more mulberry under sunlight.
These pants are amazingly versatile -- I could see them working well with any 1960s style on the UK beat-mod-psych continuum, or with any mod-derived style like a skinhead or suedehead look, or you could use them to add a bit of mod panache to a more eclectic ensemble! The burgundy color gives just the right amount of flamboyance, so you could wear these with something really psychedelic like a paisley or brocade Nehru tunic, or with more traditional menswear like a button-down or tab-collar or beagle-collar dress shirt, maybe with a jacket or sweater vest! They would also go great with a shirt with contrasting collar and cuffs, or with some casual mod knitwear. The possibilities are endless, because these would look amazing with anything from a white T-shirt to a hussar tunic, with Beatle boots, desert boots, dressy shoes, lace-up boots, or whatever. Wearing them is guaranteed to send you into paroxysms of aesthetic ecstasy. I also had one of my female friends try these on, and they looked fantastic on her as well. But please note that they're cut for a typical male figure, so the hips aren't significantly bigger than the waist.
You can see a few loose threads in the photos. After taking them, I used a needle and loop of thread to pull the longer stray threads to the inside of the pants so they can't be seen.
I don't smoke, but I do have pets, and who knows about previous owners. But I have washed these prior to listing them.
