    Description

My husband and I have owned and restored over 1000 antique and vintage Singer sewing machines, and along the way we have accumulated a stock of old Singer parts. These things aren’t doing anyone any good sitting in our workshop, so we have decided to send them on to where they’re needed.
Singer manufactured the Model 66 from 1902 until 1956. It was a wonderful sewing machine but lots of confusion and grief has been caused by the way the presser foot and attachments were mounted to the presser bar of the 66, so please bear with me as I explain what fits what.
From 1902 until 1923, the standard presser foot and various attachments mounted on the back of the presser bar instead of on the side, a design known as “back-clamp.” Photo four shows the “presser foot mount” (the upper part), and the “L-shaped” standard presser foot (the lower part), in place on a Singer 66-1. We believe that Singer Models 66-1 (treadle) and 66-3 (hand-crank) are the only sewing machines ever manufactured with this design.
    Important note:
Nothing shown in photo four is included in this listing.
In 1923, Singer eliminated the presser foot mount and changed the presser bar so that the standard presser foot and attachments mounted on the left side of the presser bar instead of the back, the familiar “side-clamp” or “low-shank” design used by other Singer machines of that period and still found on many sewing machines today.
This listing is for the standard Model 66 presser foot shown in photos one, two, and five – the presser foot that came home from the Singer shop attached to a brand-new 66-1 or 66-3 between 1902 and 1923. The fork (photo two) of the presser foot is attached to the presser foot mount on your machine using the unusual cone-shaped thumbscrew shown in photo three.
These parts will only fit “back-clamp” Singer Model 66 machines. The presser foot has discolored over the years but has lots of stitches left in it. It has been cleaned and is ready to go to work, and we hope it helps you to make lots of beautiful things.
